I will second a previous review that the lag people experience is likely from the software midi implementation they're likely using

Other people that have had problems may have had software issues but it works with a MAC and A Windows based PC just as well.

As I've seen in other comments, you must connect the adapter's MIDI "in" cable to the "out" on the instrument (obvious enough if you think about it, but I guess it confused some people)
