I purchased this based on the fact that another user said it works with Apple TV, HDMI out to VGA for a monitor to play the Apple TV image

I disconnected all cables to my docking station and reconnected the cables, followed by restart and this time everything worked including the new HDMI to VGA cable to the monitor.

Good quality HDMI to VGA adapter at a great price.
