Nice, clean, a very smooth, slippery surface.

Luckily the project i ordered this for did not require a nice cosmetic surface..

If you care about a good surface finish I would look elsewhere.

Just be aware of this, though, if you need a really clear, unmarred surface

Relative to the scratching, this material does scratch easily so if you are looking for a scratch free surface (which I was not) then look else ware.

The material is absolutely flat and has a great glossy surface

The top and bottom surfaces are smooth and have only minimal surface scratches that will be easily removed with rubbing compound.

I would have had to return it if I had to build something that required a clean surface finish..

Going to try and clamp this piece between two hard surfaces for a while, and maybe put out in the direct sunlight to use heat to straighten it out

It would not be suitable however, for any work that required a clean surface as there are numerous deep scratches in the glossy surface.

And the scratched areas looked almost like they were scratched with a rough greasy surface

I was afraid the surface of the HDPE would be scuffed and ugly as some other reviewer had mentioned, but my piece looks great.
