It actually hurt my ears standing 5 feet in front of the car

It also could be the tone difference but it definitely hurt my ears more.

Interestingly they are ear piercingly loud when you are in front of the car, but not loud at all from inside the vehicle.

Very loud but not as “manly” of a tone as I’d like.

Worked as I wanted them to but not as loud as I expected them to be.

Work as they should, noise level is set at annoying shrill tone

These horns do not sound nearly as good as the OEM horns

It's a more aggressive, grating sound that is sure to get attention, which is what horns are for!
