This puts the guitars close together, but I'm always careful when handling my instruments and haven't scratched/nicked one yet

I suppose you could opt for a cheaper, less-sturdy stand if you don't care about the instruments you're putting in it; but if you want your instruments to be safe, I recommend this stand.

I should note that the original five spaces are for thicker guitars, so if you have several thin instruments, like strats or basses, you could get all you need on this stand by adding extra slots.

Very solid feel, trust my most delicate instruments with it; much better than "L" shaped racks.
