The wood is gorgeous and makes it look like high quality
This pearwood model is a VERY pretty color (I'm not saying it's not a pretty insturment--it is), but the finish is opaque and hides the wood underneath, which just kinda deletes the lovely wooded look it could have
This one still hasnt the best tone... very pretty wood.
I learned that pearwood is used in some very fine and expensive recorders, and, being a very smooth wood, it generates lots of strong overtones
