    HP 12CP Financial Calculator

    • I wouldn't want to attempt any exam (like the CFP or CFA exams) with the slower 12c, but I don't think I'll ever give up my "Made in USA" 12c for daily work now that I know what a jewel it really is.
    • i'm not saying go and ditch your classic 12C, but if the lil' guy keels over for use grab a platinum.
    • Calculator arrived exactly as described, buttons are easy to use, clear screen, it is the classic HP 12C that every professional has in their briefcase.
    • All of the chatter about the quality not being the same as the original 12C is just not correct, in my opinion.
    • So, while my 12C doesn't round up like the
    • So, if speed is your passion, you know RPN and you already love the 12C, then I strongly suggest the new (post 2011?
    • The 12C is better for very complex finacial calcualtions but it will take lots of training to use it for these
    • but it's clear that they just don't make the 12C's as well as they used to.
    • The bond and depreciation functions are excellent and the 12C is much faster than the 733A.Most finance professors will tell you that by simply walking into a bank with this calculator you are already a step ahead
    • RPN.It is hard to beat the classic Gold 12C, however
    • The Original 12C was gold in color
    • Just like the old 12C's, but it takes a harder press for the keys to register
    • My old 12C also works fine.
    • Frankly, if given a choice I'd take a 17BII+ gold or a 10B (old style only.. not the 10BII).I have three 12C's, 3 17BII+ golds, 4 17BIIs, and one 14B.
    • Decent calculator, however the keys don't feel nearly as solid as the old 12C.
    • As to recommending the 12C to anyone, yes I would
    • The keys feel as solid and as responsive as the original 12C (the gold standard of calculators) and I am completely happy with the new 12CP
    • I have had a 12C for years .... and lost it.
    • Except the scientific 48sx from HP; but for business use and portability the 12c is the best.
    • It's a really nice calculator, better than the classic 12C from HP.It's very fast and versatile
    • Most of my friends had the 12C and liked
    • My suggestion, buy a like-new used old 12C from eBay instead of a new one
    • I still love the 12c but unfortunately quality is so poor compared to my original that finally died.
    • Improve the processing speed, power, and functionality while maintaining the classic 12C layout.
    • That the 12C was (and is) regarded by traders and portfolio managers as 100% accurate for such purposes should give you an indication why this calculator has dominated the financial calculator marketplace among professionals
    • Well, the 12C is one of two options if you are a CFA candidate, so it is either this or the TI-BAII Plus
    • I had to replace my stolen HP 12C.
    • The keys are not nearly as durable as my ancient original 12c.
    • The old 12c are tanks too.
    • I recently lost my 12C that I had for over 15 years and replaced it with the platinum edition.
    • The 12C uses the difficult to identify [CHS] (change symbol) key to enter a negative number as an initial investment (outflow), while the 10bII+ has a [+/-
    • Much faster than my now dead Gold 12c too.
    • But the keys on this anniversary edition don't respond as smart as 12c.
