HP 23.8-inch FHD IPS Monitor with Tilt/Height Adjustment and Built-in Speakers (VH240a, Black)

    • I hook up to this screen has louder speakers and sounds better
    • My old phone has a better speaker than this monitor
    • First attempt had dead pixels, the second attempt was perfect, as everyone said, the speakers are crap
    • The monitor has a beautiful screen but poor speakers.
    • but hey, external speakers aren't expensive.
    • It was also easier to put together and has a solid speaker
    • Built-it speakers are a joke
    • The speakers are a joke
    • I do not care about the speakers--I'll buy speakers if I want good speakers
    • Other reviewers panned the speakers - I do not share their view, because this is a home computer setup for general use, not gaming nor audio reference,
    • This has a nice picture and nice functions but the speakers are useless
    • Honestly I don't hold the bad sounding speakers against tv/monitor manufacturers they don't have space for remotely decent speakers
    • my only complaints are that the speakers are a little quiet and
    • For me this was not an important feature, because if sound quality was a concern, it would make more sense to incorporate "sound system" speakers e,g, Bose or top shelf speaker mfg.
    • The speakers on this monitor are ridiculously bad
    • so far I am impressed, the speaker isn't very loud though
    • Gotta go spend more $$$ on decent speaker now.
    • The speaker quality is lacking, hard to hear and poor sound quality speakers
    • The speakers are probably good for monitor speakers
    • We decided an external speaker was better for one of my computers than the monitor sound
    • Minus 1/2 star for the built-in speakers (horrible and should have been left out)
    • the internal speakers is a little weak, however the height and tilt adjustable mount makes up for it in spades.
    • The speakers are VERY QUIET but the video looks better than expected
    • You will have to purchase other speakers as well.
    • However, why do they even bother putting in substandard speakers if you can’t hear them?
    • Keep in mind that the speakers are anemic and possibly worse than a cell phone, and that there is only one HDMI and one VGA port
    • The screen is responsive and the speakers are decent
    • My concern was not the speakers (seriously, only high end monitors have great speakers), but because of the 'grayish' screen everyone was talking about.
    • The speakers are very bad, and digital tears happen when just scrolling on a mouse on the fast reponse setting
    • They're about as good as my ancient iPhone 6 speakers, which is pretty bad for desktop speakers
    • Speaker is mediocre, but I liked it so much I bought a second one.
    • The speakers are nice and the picture is really nice
    • They are a great size and even though the speakers are not super great it is nice to have them for Skype business meetings
    • Speaker is nice to have although not hi-fi as would be expected
    • so I could plug in my portable speakers to them if I wanted to
    • The audio speaker non sufficient, it is terrible actually
    • I try to plug in my speakers into this monitor day one and nothing, like no sound at all and i tried other devices on the speaker and it works fine
    • It's a fairly modest monitor, but great value for the price (solid 1080p/60Hz display, passable speakers if you need a temporary solution, adjustable mount).
    • Yes, the speaker is poor, didn't buy it for the speaker.
    • The speakers sound very cheap, so had to turn those off and stick with normal computer speakers.
    • Also, I don't use the speakers in the monitor since I use this for my office and there are people around me, but for the people that care, speaker is very very weak
    • you can buy any cheap speakers and will likely be better then the ones built in if you really care about the sound quality
    • The speakers always were terrible.
    • The speakers are horrendous, though.
    • Great resolution and the speakers are a great add on.
    • Good resolution, but speakers are not loud enough.
    • Great picture, terrible speakers
    • The reason I am giving it three stars instead of five is that the speakers are TERRIBLE
    • The speakers aren't great as many have said, but I prefer standalone speakers
    • Speaker is very poor and exits behind the screen, low volume even when set on high
    • It took some doing, but I figured out how to give control back to the PC and get sound to come out of real speakers and not the god awful speakers in this monitor.
    • I love my monitor but the speakers are wack!!!!!
    • The speakers are crap nothing like the HP monitor I replaced this one with.
    • Works great with my Mac Mini, good price, speakers are terrible
    • I thought the speakers are fine overall, audio is loud enough and understandablefor sure.
    • The speakers aren't amazing, but they have good sound quality for the most part
    • Pros: resolution is great (HD), adjustable tilt, adjustable height, HDMI ports, integrated speakers includedCons: the integrated speakers are not great, but they do the trick if you need them.
    • speaker are not very loud
    • Even the cheapest smallest speakers out there will probably have better sound than this thing
    • The latest iPhones actually have better speakers than this monitor
    • My big gripe is that the speakers in this monitor are really substandard.
    • Speaker not as great as I thought
    • The speakers are not good
    • But the speakers on this monitor were terrible
    • Couple it up with some good speakers and you can make it a decent gaming experience too
    • Speaker is on the back, hard to make out conversation during online meetings (especially if you have people who talk low in general)
    • The internal speaker is very, very poor
    • Great screen, speakers are not that loud but most built in ones aren't
    • Works great with my Mac Mini, good price, speakers are terrible
    • With 3 of these plugged into my Nvidia GX1070 it shows up as three separate speakers, there is no way to bridge all three or to use them as L R C.tl;dr High quality for price, speakers are useless.
    • I was hoping these speakers would be tolerable so that I could go without independent speakers.
    • However, the speakers are not good, but that shouldn't be a reason to not buy it; buy it for the relatively great picture, not the speakers.
    • Great picture, terrible speakers
    • Speaker failed just days into regular use
    • Disappointed that speakers didn't work on first monitor and then did not work on replacement.
    • The speakers are not good, just keep the audio Bluetooth or audio cable disconnected
    • The only thing is that the speakers aren't that great and the sound isn't perfect from them.
    • The audio speaker non sufficient, it is terrible actually
    • Weak speakers, minor blurring at times of very fast moving video
    • Speaker is mediocre, but I liked it so much I bought a second one.
    • Got this originally as a second monitor option due to the built in tilting, but now I'm using it as a TV for my Switch and PS4 while the speakers aren't the greatest (which was expected) the visual quality and colors are amazing
    • The only beef I have with it is the speakers are a lil too quiet for my taste
    • I agree with most of the reviews that the speakers are very weak - I have to use headphones or other speakers
    • The speakers are an added bonus although they're not great
    • The only thing I wish it had was a louder speaker
    • FYI the speakers are weak, so if that matters get something else.
    • The big question, will I fork out more money for decent speakers and keep this monitor or send it back
    • At its highest, the sound is barely audible with any type of ambient noise, there is no bass to speak of, and the over all quality is tin-ey; basically what you'd expect from a pair of extremely cheap speakers
    • The speaker could be better, but it gets the job done.
    • The controls are ok but could be better and as others have said the speakers sound horrendous
    • When I hooked up the first monitor I received, I thought that maybe the speakers were defective and returned the monitor to Amazon, The replacement monitor had the same poor speakers
    • The clarity was good but the speakers were not loud enough !
    • Having the speakers in the monitor is a space saver
    • I skipped one star as I thought the speakers were pretty poor.
    • The speakers are fine for basic sound
    • Even the cheapest computer speakers you can buy at wallieworld are a vast improvement
    • Honestly I don't hold the bad sounding speakers against tv/monitor manufacturers they don't have space for remotely decent speakers
    • And added bonus, the speaker works as well
    • tldr: excellent monitor, poor speaker quality.
    • Works good and I like the speaker in the monitor too.
    • The tinny speakers are only useful if you have NO other sound option, but nobody should really expect Bose quality from a $100 monitor.
    • The speakers are trash
    • The speakers are not great, but they are good enough.
    • great budget monitor for the price however speakers are terrible and should have been omitted or been an optional extra
    • Nice monitor for viewing but the integrated speakers are AWFUL.
    • VESA mount worked perfect, Sharp pictures, but the speaker is very weak.
    • , the internal speakers don't get very loud at all.
    • Absolutely atrocious speakers
    • The monitor has a beautiful screen but poor speakers.
    • The speakers are crap
    • Native resolution of 1920x1080 seems perfect with W10 (older monitor was running at 1680x1050).As others have said, the internal speakers on this monitor are total garbage -
    • Built-in speakers were one of the reasons I chose this monitor over similar models as I knew I was going to have a limited work space and external speakers would be tough
    • Now, the speakers are really bad
    • I bought 2nd one a couple days later, since I liked the first.oh but btw, the internal speakers, they're bad.
    • The speakers are not that good, but I am okay with it for occasional audio.
    • Picture is wonderful quality.. speakers are awful.
    • The monitor I replaced had awesome speakers and I was spoiled.
    • The built in speakers sound bad, but everything else is great
    • Inwas hoping the built in speaker would prevent me from buying speakers as well.
    • The speakers are very tinny and low output - essentially unusable.
    • Great monitor, terrible speakers.
    • The speaker is absolute garbage though.
    • and I would greatly recommend separate speakers.
    • The speakers aren’t that bad either for being built in and adjustable heights really help for those Like me with neck and back issues.
    • The speakers work ok for your typical youtube vids but are probably lacking if you need big bold sound
    • beautiful display, built with quality material, seems very stable, speakers not the best but can't expect everything to be perfect for the price
    • Very great monitor, speakers aren't too bad honestly
    • I read reviews about the lousy speakers in the monitor, but I had no use for them as I have a surround system connected.
    • It sounds like cheap toy speakers
    • The sound is very limited but I got speakers so problem solved
    • Did not like the speaker quality that it has, its too soft and lacs clarity.
    • The speaker is not good as expected, it's just a speaker.
    • But at this price point, the screen quality is definitely worth spending a few extra bucks for decent speakers.
    • Why on Earth would I want my audio going to the lousy speakers from this monitor
    • The speakers are very anemic
    • screen is good IPS, speaker really sucks
    • Unfortunately, the speakers are terrible
    • Yes, as many people commented the speakers are weak
    • It's an excellent quality monitor easy to install with beautiful video (if you don't have HDMI or VGA, you'll need to buy a converter, though, so be forewarned), but why they bothered putting the useless audio speakers in it is beyond me
    • The speakers are worthless.
    • I will say the speaker is terrible but I knew that buying this
    • My advice is to forget about the built in speakers and buy some inexpensive computer speakers
    • The speakers are very poor.
    • Great monitor even if speakers are not very good
    • Very weak speakers, my
    • The speakers are, admittedly, not the best, but who buys a monitor for the speakers
    • These speakers are very poor
    • The speakers are horrible
    • Like other reviewers said, the builtin speakers are not very loud, but I don't really care
    • The only shortcoming of this monitor are its speakers, which I am not concerned with in the slightest since that is what external speakers are for
    • I wish the speaker is louder and more clear, the quality of the speaker on the monitor itself is defnitely low quality
    • Like other reviews say, the speakers aren't great, but that's not a big deal to me at all
    • but I for office use where I don't play audo that offen they are not going to bother me and no speakers on the desk help keep it clean.
    • I connected it without a problem, but the internal speakers are pretty bad
    • Had this for six months when the integrated speakers stopped working
    • Very poor speakers - sounds tinny with an echo.
    • good speakers ; the rotation of the display screen works fine ( as desired to vertical and horizontal position)
    • good speakers ; the rotation of the display screen works fine ( as desired to vertical and horizontal position)
    • The only issue is the speakers, but I don't use them, since I have my own 5 speaker surround sound system
    • The only annoying thing is that the speaker is so quiet, it might as well not even have a speaker
    • We bought at the same time a Dell S2418HX which is also 24" but has 99% sRGB with more vivid color, deeper depth, on screen control (to adjust the colors etc.) and much better speakers for about $40.00 more
    • I used to use a TV for monitor so of course it's sound was better, and now that it's died after ten years, I'm grateful for any sound until I pick out some decent computer speakers
    • Great monitor, terrible speakers.
    • That said, they just aren't good speakers, and even my laptop's speakers sound much better
    • The reason I am rating only 3 stars is because I do not like the speakers.
    • The speakers on it aren’t the greatest for
    • The speakers in the monitor are not fantastic, but I really don't use them... the HDMI in uses the internal speakers, but a phono jack can bu used to put the audio to good speakers.
    • speakers are really bad
    • I didn't really try the speakers out too much and actually disabled it on the monitor because I couldn't figure out how to use earbuds with the monitor
    • The speakers aren't great but given how affordable the price is, something small to overlook.
    • I bought 2nd one a couple days later, since I liked the first.oh but btw, the internal speakers, they're bad.
    • Although I would note that it is not as nice as the Dell P-series or U-series monitors in terms of the height adjustable stands, but those monitors costs at least $60 more
    • The speed of the animals didn't seem to blur as with youtube (note: I didn't watch the exact same video so this is highly anecdotal.
    • working exactly as I’d hoped
    • The monitor was easy to set up and I’m sure it will work as I expect it to work.
