but once you get this installed and working, just get into the GUI through the IP address and set up the little things, security, static IP, name, locations and other things.

I finally called HP tech support and the guy said that I needed to assign a static IP to the printer.

Assign a manual "static" ip address and set it to never be on auto-off (right click printer icon-printer -choose printer properties-go to settings tab-choose never under auto-off)

Unfortunately, over the course of the last year, a large proportion of them have suffered failures with the network card - when it fails, it still authenticates to the wireless network (as can be seen via our managed wireless console), but either never picks up a DHCP address, or if configured with static IP, simply never passes any traffic

I was able to do so by assigning a static IP in my wireless router and so far have not been having issues.

We suspect that, since this printer is obsolescent, that H-P is neglecting to fix bugs and programming goofs
