• Reviews around toner (2.08 of 5)

HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Wireless Laser Printer (CE658A)

    • Each cartridge yields 1000's of pages and the toner is good for years.
    • toners are expensive but I knew that from the beginning.
    • Wireless printing, Airprint from Apple OS devices, good toner life.
    • The genuine laser toner cartridge is very reasonable and easy to change.
    • Purchased to replace a Brother HL-1440, which worked fine except for an annoying "toner low" warning when copies were still fine, and in spite of attempts to block the low toner sensor feature (Google "Brother low toner" to get a long litany of the problem).
    • It has a small desktop footprint, prints fast, has the easiest toner removal and replacement of any printer I know and has proven to be very reliable.
    • Finally, toner is a bit expensive (easily $60 for 1600 pages), but plenty of aftermarket options seem to work decently enough for much less.
    • I replace the toner and it refuses to accept it.
    • Just remember to shake your toner
    • I'll post an update if there are any issues or if I find a good value generic toner that works.
    • When it seems light I take it out and shake the toner to redistribute it.
    • I was wasting my color toner in my color printer because I did so much black and white printing.
    • Toner is cheaper than a lot of other laser printers.
    • Yet, the toner is expensive but compared to other printers I owned before the print is fast with no issue so far,
    • pricey toner cartridges though.
    • Toner lasts long and the quality is excellent.
    • Also happy about the fact that there are very cheap toners to be found for sale in Amazon which was the number one reason to get this kind of printer
    • Capacity of 1600 sheets is acceptable and the toners are quite reasonable
    • No auto-duplex, expensive toner, shoddy wireless
    • If you don't need color this is the way to go or like me you can save money and have 2 printers one for B&W and one when you need color (remember that a color printer uses black ink or toner even when you are printing just black).Minor negatives: does not warn you when toner is low so if your printing 100 pages you might find pages 80-100 unreadable then have to waste toner on the new cartridge to reprint those pages
    • Double-side printing, network printing, and inexpensive toner.
    • Eventually the Brother machine declares toner is out and refuses to print, but with a lot of on-off cycling it can be begged to print -- and still did so fine, no sign of actually being low on toner.
    • I bought it to replace my ancient HP 1100 from 2001, which finally was so legacy that there was no longer any decent ink toner available for it (not to mention all the hacks I had to use to get it to connect to our desktop computer)
    • Take toner cartridge out, shake and return.
    • , Toner is cheap, the printer its self was cheap (for a laser jet)
    • Refill toner is expensive by HP but generic toners are available.
    • The only downside is the expensive toner cartridges, but they are quality toners that have never been faulty in 5 years
    • A nice printer with wireless capability (I just connect them via USB in the office), generic toner works well in them, a great value in the $80
    • Uses yet another new number toner (the one it comes with is filled about 10% as is usual for an included toner).
    • Then it accepts toner and refuses to print page.
    • Tip - when you start getting lines - take toner out and shake it
    • The good:- small size- print quality is goodThe bad:- Expensive toner with a small capacity- Could not get the printer to connect to my wireless
    • The compatible toner cartridges do not work
    • I bought it because of e print capability, which doesn't work
    • Just make sure once you log into the computers IP page the first thing you do is enable e-print or else nothing will work
