This allows me to pretty much put the echo dot anywhere there is an outlet, the second outlet is accessible, though larger 3-prong cords may run into space issues.

It doesn't obstruct the outlet above it and works just as well on a lower outlet, but those are harder to find in my house without a piece of furniture in front of them
