I bought one of these for the A/V studio at my media production company; it has been supporting a Shure SM7B and mic cable (using the included velcro cable straps - super handy!) for more than a year now, and I've had zero issues with it

The straps for cables to the mic are excellent as well, keeps with the astethics of the arm
