I was hoping it was the cable as the video card and tv both support hdmi 2.0 and should be able to maintain that resolution

I had some Monster HDMI cables hooked up prior and very few sources would get the TV to recognize it was a 4k signal.

It is absolutely true that a good HDMI cable will yield a better picture and reliability per the points above

THIS cable seems to have resolved the video and audio issues we were having with our new HDTV.Apparently a really good HDMI cable is required for the new HDTVs.
