Just today I realized that the hissing sound can be reduced if I increased the volume from my phone to a higher level and then if necessary turn up the car stereo volume (so the car's speakers stay at about a 9-10 level, where before I was having to increase it to 13-14)

Hands down the sound is louder and clear with the ION ... but for just 8 Dollars this substitute INSTEN cassette does the job well...the only thing it isn't as nice sounding or as loud as the ION.
