Thankfully I had a very nice Caseology envoy cover on the phone

Did not fit--too tight--for my IPhone 7 with a very thin protective cover, Case should fit an IPhone so-protected as you risk damaging an unprotected phone when pulling it out of the case if you drop it--not an unlikely event.

Will not even fit with the thinnest protective cover.

The top however, well it was about 3/8ths of an inch further away from the magnet to secure the cover when closed
