Works fine with a simple hard plastic case that wraps around the edge of the phone.

The one you remove after installation protects the protector if you use a plastic smoothing card to prevent bubbles during the install.

I previously bought a different screen protector for my old phone (not this brand) so I think I can judge when a screen protector is made of cheap material (since the one for my old phone was made of cheap plastic)

The screen is a little sticky when you take the final plastic off but it smooths out pretty quickly

However I've got only average dexterity and with the inevitable amount of fumbling I managed to trap a bunch of bubbles and the suggested solution to try to scrooch them out with the edge of a credit card was only marginally successful.
