I did better placing them without the guide but everyone is different and the next person may find the guide useful

For my new iPhone X, they had very clear instructions, a YouTube video, and a very useful guide to install the screen protector

I also thought the guide for applying it was easier to use.

The only issue I had is that the guide had dust on the underside when I put it around the phone and got some grime on the bottom of the screen
