I was not able to transfer the app from one computer to another after I did a clean install...the Migration Assistant was pulling over damaged files and I needed to start fresh, but lost iWork '09.

I was familiar with iWork '08 and upgraded to El Capitan, which does not support iWork '08, hence the need for iWork '09.

Overall, however, I find iWork useful and easy to use without being over-complicated by features that only a professional would use--ones that I probably would never use.

iWork is great for most things, and I find that it also carries Apple's rule of user-friendliness over function perfectly

It works well and is much more cost effective than office for mac, if someone I am sending to needs the files in an office compatible format, iWork can do that
