Prime authorized a return for refund, but I have since discovered that the defective power bar will work as long as the small LED flashlight is left on.

This charger works well enough, but I ended up deducting a couple of stars because (1) it's rather heavy for the size and (2) it's pretty easy for the flashlight to accidentally turn on when the bar is just thrown in your backpack, draining the power
