I sleep with music playing, too, and I can dial down the speaker to an appropriate volume without struggling to hear the music or having it play too loudly like on my phone

Am returning mine for two reasons: volume is not as loud as I expected, and the forward facing speaker does not spread the sound around as well as cheaper units such as the $20 iHome speakers (non-Bluetooth)
