The bass is pretty good, sometimes I turn my Subwoofer really low as these produce some amazing sound and not rattling anything.

Some people that review the JBL GTO 939 said that these speaker have such a good low end bass that a subwoofer us not needed

They sound twice as good as the Polk components with amp I put in my son's MX-5.Rich, smooth, deep bass, the highs aren't harsh, just perfect

Enough mid bass but definitely need a sub to make the speakers shine

The mid bass is great with awesome mid-range and clean tweater

Although the range doesn't go quite as low as other similar offerings, these can put out some pretty decent bass, especially when well crossed over with a sub woofer.

Very high output of crisp highs and woofers are great with nice bass response.

They even have a nice little bass pop for a 5" speaker

Wasn't impressed at first, too much muddy distorted bass

Whoever said that the bass is weak, you may need to find tune your HU's settings

but these are nice and clear, just not very much bass

Sound quality is excellent with really good mid bass

I chose those music since it covers good bass lines, brass instruments, piano, male and female vocals, drums/percussions and of course guitars

the woofers perform so well that i no longer need to have a second amplifier and subwoofer set up, they provide more than enough bass and midrange without distorting even at uncomfortable volume levels

Decent bass from a 5 x 7 and the highs sound pretty crisp.

Good treble, bass isn't super deep, but its so crystal clear on the highs

The bass is hard and punchy, but you can tune it to sound like thunder if you want to

If you enjoy nice mid range bass from a load speaker with really clear sound i would definitely suggest you buy a pair...soup to nuts they are worth it.

I do have them crossed over so I was not using these for bass notes, but I bet they would give out some nice bass as well.

Fantastic component speakers, very bright sound on part of the tweeter and excellent mid-bass sound.

Your new speakers although have a clearer bass do not sound any better.

The JBL'S have a full range with a noticeably better bass response that took a lot of the load off of the compact subwoofer.
