you can get by with the smooth paper and heavy buffing

Its a good thing i ordered the replacement kit (of the polishing compound - white & blue) because it took me half the bottles to actually get used to how to get the best buffing out of this unit.

So I sent it through a 10-second sanding cycle with the soft sandpaper, then back through the two recommended buffing cycles, and voila
