JSI Special 4/4 Violin String Set: Gold Label Ball-End E & Dominant A, D, and G Strings - Medium Gauge

    • That was a bit disappointing, as we have never had a string break in the 5+ years of playing.
    • Had I been the one to restring my violin, I would have questioned that I was to blame for 2 strings breaking.
    • The strings sound fine, however the dominant A string broke at the loop end when I was installing the string
    • The dominant A string broke at the loop end when I was tuning
    • They are affordable, sound fantastic (I especially love the purity of the Pirastro E) and are durable.
    • The G string Prelude used to vibrate profusely and felt thick, producing a buzzing sound and feel when played.
    • Dominant brand E strings are notorious for screaching when played quickly so are not the first choice of fiddlers, but this set of strings is three Dominants (G,D, & A) and a Pirastro Gold to get around the screaches - a good choice.
    • I did some research and read that the Dominant E string isn't great; everything I found suggested Dominant G/D/A and Piastro Gold for
    • these are my favorite strings and so nice that the gold label e is included.
    • I thought the Pirastro E string sounded beautiful and the Dominants were also great, although after a bit their sound seemed to change not in a bad way though
    • Dominant strings were great, at a great price-- but the Gold Label E that was shipped was NOT gold!
    • These are so rich and mellow, and that Pirastro Gold e just rings
    • Very clear e string, I can hear my violin resonate very clearly with these
    • the standard $51 Dominant set with the "gold" E string.
    • Sounds AMAZINGLY true, clear, light but softly emotional, no squeaks - yeah, even the E (my "difficult" string
    • The Gold E string did not last too long
    • , the the E string broke just 2 days after it was installed.
    • I was very disappointed in the gold E string and finally, after trying it on several of my violins, decided it was too harsh and am not using it.
    • (on purpose?) that the e string may be the pirastro "gold" brand, but it's not the actual gold-colored, more expensive e string that the pros use.
    • This set comes with dominant A D and G strings, as well as a gold E string
