I do remove my watch whenever I work in water, as it has always been something I did, so I can't speak to the need to remove the the protection to dry between it and the watch

It gives me the peace of mind that I need after buying such an expensive watch haha

Case is thick and rubbery, my watch was unable to register touches through it unless I jabbed at it really hard

If you care about how it looks, it’s definitely a little bulky and the plastic wrap certainly doesn’t make the watch look any classier.
