• Reviews around bass (4.04 of 5)

    JVC HAS160W Headphones

    • I have to do a little tweaking of my equalizer settings to get the sound to have enough bass for my taste, but once adjusted sounds remarkably good for the price
    • The frequency range is excellent (12 Hz - 24 KHz), sound quality is excellent, ranging from good deep bass to beautiful reproduction of higher end
    • Folks looking for expensive noise-canceling headphones, or for more bass will be spending $50-300 meanwhile this, although not having significant bass, definitely works for blocking out outside sound for a great affordable price
    • They're not going to have enough bass quantity to satisfy the most one-dimensional "bassheads," but no one's going to accuse Flats of being anemic, either
    • It is a great value for about $10, with decent to very good bass response.
    • At first I was skeptical of the specs for the price, but the bass is smooth without booming, the treble is high, but the midrange is OK.
    • While not muddy, the bass is clearly overblown relative to the mids and highs, which gives the overall sound a "recessed" character
    • Deep bass and high treble are audible, but they are not strong until you boost the volume to very high levels.
    • Love them, the sound is clear and has good bass
    • Good Bass for a small, light weight headset.

    • price means there's a low downside, but for the same money, I would probably look elsewhere for one corded phones with better bass
    • The bass is very good as is the clarity.
    • The sound: Fairly natural with a decent bass response (for the size), the mid range is surprisingly well represented while the highs are clear (perhaps a bit muted/dark in the lower highs, 3-6kHz) but have a tinge of harshness (somewhat similar to some closed-back Audio-Technica headphones) and extend to only about 12kHz before beginning a sustained roll-off (still above average for their price range)
    • 4/5 the bass, highs and lows are all solid
    • The overall balance and smoothness of the sound wasn't quite as good as the Sennheisers, and the bass wasn't quite as good, but much better than the price difference would indicate

    • Good bass, clear highs, warm mids.
    • Clear sound, decent bass
    • Good sound throughout the spectrum and (very important to me) good bass response
    • They are loud and sound great, with some nice bass
    • The sound is also very well-balanced, without excessive bass or treble added.
    • Bass is pretty good, especially for their size
    • Mainly because mdr100 is a much more balanced headphone, with equalizer it produces cleaner bass.
    • Clean sound, decent bass and very comfortable
    • --I need pure highs and a decent bass kick in order to stay motivated
    • Trying to compensate with a pair of ear-covering headphones brought about exactly the opposite response: the music turned very bass-y, but not crisp, with muffled frequencies.

    • I was going to add "for the price" but honestly, I think they sound nearly as good as my Bose QC 25, though they don't have noise cancelling, of course.
    • They would work much better in a low noise environment as, again they are not studio headphones
    • The bass doesn't sound as rich as on the expensive pair of headphones I no longer use, but it sounds much better than the cheap headphones I was using
    • I would not recommend as it is not durable for intended use.
