The emergency weather bands came in very clear even in the mountains where FM reception was crap

The crank (magneto) means that with no AA batteries on hand and power out in bad weather, we still have a good source of emergency info, AND we can charge our phones too

The radio comes in crystal clear, the weather band as well

However, I consider this a small inconvenience because I probably won’t be doing much other than listening to the radio if the weather gets bad anyway

Am, fm, and weather all work great, flashlight works great, charger works great.

I live in Florida so a good quality weather radio is essential.

When first received we cranked the radio up and the charge lasted quite a long time (several hours) but when on our camping trip in the cool weather, the crank didn't work to keep the batteries charged.

Solar charge was not as lasting as expected, but overall a good weather monitor

I can rest a little easier during bad weather knowing I'm armed with my Voyager.

I need good weather information where I camp, since strong storms are fairly common.

The weather band is what we're using almost exclusively and NOAA is exponentially better than any of the local radio stations (where we had to listen to repetitive music for q close to useless weather forecast).

This is a very nice NOAA weather radio, but I returned it because it does NOT have a way to use AA batteries as advertised

She and I both feel better knowing she has such a good weather radio

We have had so much bad weather with more to come that I didn't want to chance losing power with no idea what was happening outside my home

Don't know how it is in bad weather, but I like it so far.

I was able to pick up signal no problem on a clear day, so fingers crossed it works when the weather is bad.

Living in Central Florida where there is often severe weather and hurricanes, we have a sense of security owning this unit.

This is a great weather radio

I bought it as an emergency weather radio, but the FM stations are pleasantly & surprisingly clear

I was able to pick up the weather band on channel 1 but it did not pull that broadcast in nearly as good as a smaller weather radio that I have so the weather radio of the Kaito 500 could be much better.

This is great to have for listening to baseball in good weather, and getting the weather and emergency info in bad weather

Therefore, I will only turn the alert function on when I know there is possibility of severe weather in my direct location.

I tested the AM, FM, shortwave 1, shortwave 2, and weather bands and all worked fine.

I can understand why some may feel that the expandable antenna is not as stout as one may like, but I found it to operate just fine so long as its not abused, same goes for the rotary tuning & volume dials, a little care goes a long way in overall durability, as it's not a military grade equipment, but something to simply receive emergency weather broadcasts IMO.Having said all that, I would have liked for the channel display to have been illuminated, maybe on the next model

i love the Voyager you cant beat this radio for the price i live out in the country and the antenna works well enough to pick up AM and /fm stations as well as weather alerts

Vital during any bad weather.

However, I bought it as an emergency weather radio and it works for that basic function

The flashlight is powerful and has several difference option to the lighting settings as well as to power it

I have tried all the features and it works as it should.

While this will help prevent you losing your station if you have to move the radio, it gave me concern about something breaking as I am tuning the radio

n’t vouch for the battery life, since i just received it, but after 60 seconds of cranking I was able to liston to the FM radio and a weather station and charge my IPad.
