Kaito KA500 5-way Powered Solar Power,Dynamo Crank, Wind Up Emergency AM/FM/SW/NOAA Weather Alert Radio with Flashlight,Reading Lamp and Cellphone Charger, Yellow

    • The emergency weather bands came in very clear even in the mountains where FM reception was crap
    • The crank (magneto) means that with no AA batteries on hand and power out in bad weather, we still have a good source of emergency info, AND we can charge our phones too
    • The radio comes in crystal clear, the weather band as well
    • However, I consider this a small inconvenience because I probably won’t be doing much other than listening to the radio if the weather gets bad anyway
    • Am, fm, and weather all work great, flashlight works great, charger works great.
    • I live in Florida so a good quality weather radio is essential.
    • You can set the NOAA Alert to turn the radio on if there is severe weather approaching
    • Great for emergency weather situations (like the recent hurricanes) when the power goes out and you need to stay informed
    • I like getting the weather band and reports when weather is bad.
    • After a weekend out in Medina Lake with horrible weather and no phone reception, I decided to order the Voyager KA500
    • good weather, am/fm reception - a little disappointed in short wave (probably more a reflection of stations than radio)
    • the sound quality is better than expected and includes AM, FM, SW1, SW2 as well as NOAA weather bands
    • Trying to use this feature in the real world just for severe weather would require almost constant cranking
    • The radio sounds good and we could get clear weather information as well.
    • The reception is very good on the radio channels as well as the weather bands.
    • It is battery operated and easy to transport and gets am and fm as well as 7 weather stations.
    • The lights worked as described, as well as the weather band
    • This gives me greater confidence in power outages and severe weather.
    • It has short wave am FM as well as weather from noa
    • I would recommend this product to anyone living in an area with dangerous weather patterns
    • I do not feel confident I will be able to get the NOAA alerts when there is bad weather and I needed the most.
    • I then switched over to the emergency weather channel, which also had a very clear strong signal.
    • Great Weather Reception!!!
    • I love the weather features since we do live in a volatile weather area, as well as the all the power/solar/cranking options (volatile weather means we are often without power).
    • The fact that this radio has shortwave as well as weather was appealing, but the charger option to keep a phone charged with the internal battery was what made me buy this
    • Just using the built in antenna, received the weather perfect, AM finally works where I live, and short wave came in, many different stations
    • I am so relieved I found the dependable weather radio from Kaito/Voyager.
    • So we can listen to the Brewers game, and then to we will know if there is any bad weather coming.
    • When first received we cranked the radio up and the charge lasted quite a long time (several hours) but when on our camping trip in the cool weather, the crank didn't work to keep the batteries charged.
    • I was able to keep up to date with weather reports and tornado warnings, and used the radio to make life-saving evacuation decisions
    • I had been searching for one for some time that offers several important features needed in an emergency weather situation and am so pleased with all it can do, additionally, it was very affordable too.
    • I am glad to have it around during this nasty winter weather, in case of emergency.
    • Great for bad weather and needed it because of being a disaster preparedness coordinator
    • This is the best weather radio I've owned.
    • I wanted one that had the capacity to provide important weather related information as well as one that can be charged without electricity or batteries.
    • The one thing my hurricane kit did not have was a good hand crank weather radio.
    • I purchased this radio after much research for a small radio with NOAA weather alerts, multi power capabilities and a medium price
    • I love the weather features since we do live in a volatile weather area, as well as the all the power/solar/cranking options (volatile weather means we are often without power).
    • I plan to use the radio primarily at home for notification of severe weather, although I will likely take it on road trips
    • Weather part of the radio works pretty well
    • Looking forward to taking this camping and out on the plains during severe weather season.
    • and I love the NOAA weather I haven't done the hand
    • I purchased this Kaito Emergency Weather Alert Radio (Yellow) for my father for his birthday.
    • Solar charge was not as lasting as expected, but overall a good weather monitor
    • I can rest a little easier during bad weather knowing I'm armed with my Voyager.
    • I need good weather information where I camp, since strong storms are fairly common.
    • The weather band is what we're using almost exclusively and NOAA is exponentially better than any of the local radio stations (where we had to listen to repetitive music for q close to useless weather forecast).
    • We seem to be getting allot of storms/bad weather and the alert is loud enough to wake us
    • good weather, am/fm reception - a little disappointed in short wave (probably more a reflection of stations than radio)
    • and then your radio will automatically turn on and alert you of emergency weather reports
    • Great for emergency weather situations (like the recent hurricanes) when the power goes out and you need to stay informed
    • This is a very nice NOAA weather radio, but I returned it because it does NOT have a way to use AA batteries as advertised
    • She and I both feel better knowing she has such a good weather radio
    • We have had so much bad weather with more to come that I didn't want to chance losing power with no idea what was happening outside my home
    • Don't know how it is in bad weather, but I like it so far.
    • He is extremely pleased with this product, as he stated "it's like a little security blanket that keeps me informed of the bad weather coming my way".
    • thank you Kaito for your commitment to our being able to receive information during a critical weather event
    • I was able to pick up signal no problem on a clear day, so fingers crossed it works when the weather is bad.
    • Living in Central Florida where there is often severe weather and hurricanes, we have a sense of security owning this unit.
    • I mainly bought it for emergency weather alerts because we have had a couple of close calls the last few years with tornadoes in our area
    • Weather and SW bands are clear
    • bought one for my friend because of the weather access good for living in Florida and get hurricanes updates !!!
    • This is a great weather radio
    • I bought it as an emergency weather radio, but the FM stations are pleasantly & surprisingly clear
    • I was able to pick up the weather band on channel 1 but it did not pull that broadcast in nearly as good as a smaller weather radio that I have so the weather radio of the Kaito 500 could be much better.
    • This is great to have for listening to baseball in good weather, and getting the weather and emergency info in bad weather
    • Therefore, I will only turn the alert function on when I know there is possibility of severe weather in my direct location.
    • I like the alert for severe weather
    • Works great, very handy for bad weather or camping.
    • Weather also works 24/7
    • I tested the AM, FM, shortwave 1, shortwave 2, and weather bands and all worked fine.
    • I can understand why some may feel that the expandable antenna is not as stout as one may like, but I found it to operate just fine so long as its not abused, same goes for the rotary tuning & volume dials, a little care goes a long way in overall durability, as it's not a military grade equipment, but something to simply receive emergency weather broadcasts IMO.Having said all that, I would have liked for the channel display to have been illuminated, maybe on the next model
    • i love the Voyager you cant beat this radio for the price i live out in the country and the antenna works well enough to pick up AM and /fm stations as well as weather alerts
    • I have owned a variety of mediocre, useless weather radios over the years so has been great finally having a reliable one
    • This is great to have for listening to baseball in good weather, and getting the weather and emergency info in bad weather
    • Weather isn't too bad if a weather station is close,
    • Perfect radio for those bad weather events when our power goes out.
    • Got this radio for fishing in my 14ft old boat and for the weather reports it works
    • /FM, NOAA weather, solar panel, hand crank, cell phone charger, reading lamp, LED flashlight, and more
    • Vital during any bad weather.
    • However, I bought it as an emergency weather radio and it works for that basic function
    • The flashlight is powerful and has several difference option to the lighting settings as well as to power it
    • I have tried all the features and it works as it should.
    • While this will help prevent you losing your station if you have to move the radio, it gave me concern about something breaking as I am tuning the radio
    • n’t be any happier with it!
    • n’t vouch for the battery life, since i just received it, but after 60 seconds of cranking I was able to liston to the FM radio and a weather station and charge my IPad.
