Koss VC20 provides a great way to lower or completely cut off the earphone volume.

I would recommend it to someone looking for an expensive way to increase volume slightly

Anyone who ever had a short in their headphones will know how extremely annoying it is to have to be twisting the cord this way and that trying to find that "sweet spot" where the both sides work
