I don't know if that drive will continue to work properly once I reformat it and begin to attempt to use it again, but given the age of the drive I decided to replace it with a larger one

I had backed up weddings ( Im a wedding videographer ) onto this hard drive and one day it crashed for no apparent reason

I've had too many external hard drives fail, I finally saved up to have one at home

I needed a single 8TB external for backup and I chose this drive because the picture and specs claim that the drive uses a USB 3.0 A to B connection as opposed to the inferior Micro USB connection

Out all my external hard drive LaCie Porsche is a work horse I would recommend it.

I LOVE this hard drive

After some research, I don't think that the faded LED is an indicator that the hard drive is dying, but it would have been nice if it stayed as bright as a new one a little longer.

Ordered new, drive works fine, but LaCie refuses to honor warranty

Nothing is said that I could find regarding placing the drive vertically on the desktop, so I have not done that

It is at powerful and beautifully designed Hard Drive, matching the colours of Apple.

I have bought over 10 Lacie hard drives in the last year, and three in the last month

I have now tried both the Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 versions of LaCie's d2 hard drives, with this Porsche Design model the latest addition

When I run it, it says no compatible drives found.

This is a great drive for MacOS users

So for the love of your tables and iPad and other stuff don't move this hard drive by sliding it

I'm expecting this hard drive to provide me with reliable service over the next few years

The hard drive is not working for me, including after working with LaCie's technical support

I took it to the computer shop to try to fix it - and I could hear screaking sound as soon as it was connected to the shop's PC.For my previous purchase of prior models of LaCie Porsche Design USB external hard drive, most of them could not be used without me having to manually partition it by myself.

The 500GB is not actually solid state drive, misleading product info

Very heavy, and the corners are too sharp, so that I literally need to cover the hard drive with a small piece of towel, which is really, really awkward

I bought this Hard drive in September of 2017 as my back up drive to keep at home

I own other LaCie back-up hard drives and I have not had any problems.

According to documentation, the drive is supposed to respect sleep settings set in the OS, but that is not the case.

Plus, I didn't like how cheap the drive felt

This external drive is portable yet its capacity is huge

and i'm surprised that after almost two years, it's still current -- which is rare for a hard drive
