It is possible that the bulbs became broken during shipping or at our end while still in their boxes.

This bulb performs well for the price, but the packing and quality of the bulb are not quite as good as more expensive brands (duh).

It's a good bulb, but with the quality of it, I'd be sure to have one or two on-hand if you use several fixtures using these bulbs, as I think you could easily blow the bulb with rough handling.
