Lamy Safari Fountain Pen - Charcoal - Fine

    • The ink can bleed a bit, so you must blow on it after writing, but the sound of the tip scratching on a good piece of paper, like that in a Moleskin book, feels and looks amazing
    • It worked okay, but was a bit scratchy and not the most enjoyable to write with
    • I thought they looked a bit 80s and cheap.
    • and I didn't cringe a bit
    • The only possible issue is that the Lamy fine seems a bit closer to a medium
    • The cap is a bit large and awkward to place on the back of the
    • The fine point is a bit scratchy but definitely not the worst out there
    • I believe I would have liked super fine better for writing as it's a bit of a thick line and a bit messy looking
    • It's a bit tricky to use, you have to hold it correctly otherwise it will not write as firm.
    • I am interested with this pen, but I was a bit doubtful with it that it would not function once I accidentally dropped it
    • The Lamy bleeds a bit when using cheap paper
    • The only thing is that it is a good bit different from a ball point and if you are not used to holding it just right, it carves into the paper.
    • As a college student, ease of note taking is vital, and this pen not only makes it easy, but a bit of a joy!
    • and it's drained a bit less than half the supplied cartridge
    • A bit bulky, but that is to preference
    • Does seem like it's a bit of a ink hog? have to refill it every 4 pages of writing or
    • I mean, it's a cool pen, but it's a little thicker that fine point and it leaks a little bit when you use it on regular paper
    • It's a great bit of insight on Lamy's part and speaks to the attention-to-detail of this pen
    • It is fairly hardy, but I did bend the clip and that's a bit loose now.
    • Action is smooth, although my iteration skips a fair bit.
    • It seems a bit silly to need to buy the converter separately, it is my thought a pen should come with one
    • The pen is very light (considerably lighter than a Cross chrome ballpoint); the finish of the charcoal pen is a bit textured, affording a bit of grip
    • , fine is a bit more broad than most fines, if using cheap paper and taking notes on college ruled paper like me then opt for the EF though it will give more feedback and be a little drier you can fix that with a brass shim and micromesh until it is as smooth as a Visconti.
    • It writes well and has a bit of tooth to it which I like
    • The nibs are a bit scratchy and slow.
    • This pen is a bit difficult to write with, you can only apply ink with using one particular grip of the pen with the write angle and side facing paper
    • The only minor drawback is that if you keep the cap on the pen while in use, it makes the pen top heavy and a bit harder to keep it on the paper
    • The only minor drawback is that if you keep the cap on the pen while in use, it makes the pen top heavy and a bit harder to keep it on the paper
    • Great feel (though a bit on the light side), smooth nib, easy to refill, and a fantastic indestructible pen clip
    • I imagine finding a fast italic nib would be a bit tricky, but the Fine that comes with this Safari isn't much faster and doesn't look anywhere near as good
