Lamy Safari Fountain Pen - Charcoal - Fine

    • The rubber gasket on the barrel ensures that the cap closes smoothly and securely, and gives a satisfying click when capped properly
    • The conservative black colored body, cap and nib are not flashy at all, yet when you pull this pen at your next meeting it will turn a few heads
    • every day and eventually the clip twisted the cap too much and the very top of the cap snapped
    • As a result, I had the cap come off in my pocket and totally destroy a nice pair of pants.
    • Also, the cap pops off easily and will stain your clothing if not careful, so this doesn't make for a good traveler's pen
    • When the cap was closed on the counterfeit pen, it was looser (cap could easily be rotated while on the pen) than on the real pen.5
    • It never leaks, the cap doesn't come loose, the converter never comes loose inside the pen, and even when my puppy gave the body a brief chewing when it fell on the floor during a refill, it pen still looks as good as ever
    • The cap will not stay on and the pen has fallen out multiple times causing a mess of ink as well as staining my shirt.
    • The cap keeps coming lose, like so many others have stated
    • Secure cap
    • It writes well, is very easy to fill, weighs next to nothing and the cap holds very secure
    • However, the cap is not so great, at least on my pen.
    • It never leaks, the cap doesn't come loose, the converter never comes loose inside the pen, and even when my puppy gave the body a brief chewing when it fell on the floor during a refill, it pen still looks as good as ever
    • Not a secure cap
    • Smaller cap and pin would have been nice.
    • A stupid cap is the last thing you need to worry about on a fountain pen.....
    • There is one big let down however, the cap on top has gotten very loose and comes off in my pocket all the time
    • I read about people complaining about a loose cap on the Lamy Studio
    • But, the cap comes loose after a few months of daily use
    • I, along with many others had the infamous cap issue where the cap doesn't stay on after taking it on and off many times.
    • Except after some time, the cap is not as secure as I'd
    • However I only like the aspects of this pen which were taken from the real safari and the faulty aspects ruin it for me as it has become almost unusable with its loose cap
    • I did find some posts online about other Lamy Safari owner's that have developed the loose cap issue and even a home repair fixes that I might give a try.
    • Good pen to write with, needs a more secure cap design before I'd consider this one again.
    • I write without issue in Moleskine and Livescribe notebooks, as well as in college assignment books and journals, classroom and corporate handouts, and on generic 3-ring binder paper
    • I did that as well as giving the pen a good shake to get the ink flowing and it worked like magic
    • I prefer the cartridge system/nib in this one as well as it seems to not leak as much as the pilot ones do.
    • The result is that it doesn't feel nearly as smooth as it would otherwise, and it doesn't write nearly as consistently.
    • The point is I love him just as much as I would love a child produced by my biological brother.
    • The ink that comes with the pen(in my case a blue disposable cartridge) is kind of light and doesn't write nearly as well as the noodlers.
    • Also the line won't look as elegant as with other fountain pens.
    • A minimal amount of pressure is require to mark paper and it does not bleed through as bad as I thought it would
    • Its nice, but does not write nearly as well as my pilot metropolitan (cheaper and made of metal)
