Lamy Safari Fountain Pen - Charcoal - Fine

    • I have always enjoyed writing with fountain pens even though they are out of fashion
    • When I started off with fountain pens I imagined I would take my usual obsessive collector path and end up eating cup o' noodles so I could gaze lovingly upon a growing pile of outrageously expensive writing instruments
    • Get the converter and some Noodler's Ink and you'll find yourself enjoying writing and not worrying about the pen failing.
    • Smooth writing, easy to control, well balanced, and travels well with my collection of drawing tools.
    • Cheap, durable, with pretty smooth writing.
    • Really, it's a great writing experience from a comparatively inexpensive and very durable pen
    • A little disappointing; I really liked the feel of the pen when writing.
    • It's smooth and it feels like it enhances my writing
    • Its smooth writing makes it a favorite, yet is not so fancy I have to worry about loosing it.
    • I am also looking for suggestions for green not black/green and not florescent like the pen color but for a good writing fine size with reg fine tip.
    • Great entry into the world of fine writing implements
    • I am enjoying writing with this pen (Lamy Safari fountain - fine).
    • It's smooth writing (like butter) and looks fantastic in black
    • Depending on the paper being written on as well as the nib size and ink, the writing can be a little scratchy but always a smooth flow of ink
    • Smooth writing even with a fine
    • No leaks, no mess, just a nice writing and feeling pen.
    • The writing is inconsistent, it scratches the paper, and the nib makes noise as you write with it
    • I took a foray in the fine writing instrument for the last 2 years
    • The pen has indented grips for the fingers, very durable sleek looking case, and most important writes well
    • But all in all its a pretty good writing utensil.
    • The Lamy is a great everyday writing instrument, that if you were to lose it, would not break the bank.
    • Still consistent quality and extremely smooth writing
    • The writing is smooth and the ink is great.
    • I like the writing feeling with lamy and the pen color is also great
    • In my opinion, it's been much more comfortable writing with this pen than it has been with gel- or rubber-lined pens
    • You'd be gladly surprised to the new-ancient world of amazing modern-vintage-writing
    • As an interior designer, I use this pen for sketching as well as writing.

    • Smooth writing and masculine/modern look & feel to the pen
    • The built in grips are comfortable and keep the pen at the right angle for the smoothest writing
    • I do have to say the fine point is much more of a medium point for those that like small precise writing
    • Pen received, very good writing
    • Aside from fancy writing, my writing is atrocious but the characters appear like magic with clean tip strokes

    • Very good writing experience
    • , I liked that, I have had pens that took awhile before they would begin to write, my only small disappointment was if this nib is a fine then I should have ordered extra fine because it lays a line of ink like a medium, but I will keep it, and it writes as smooth as butter (no kidding), so if you want a smooth writing pen this is it, but if you are looking for a fine
    • Super smooth writing!!
    • The nib is extremely smooth-writing and the pen feels nice in the hand.
    • The only downside to this pen is that the ink flow can be uneven, and you have to find out the angle in which it makes the most consistent strokes with adequate ink flow, otherwise the writing can feel a little scratchy on paper and looks uneven
    • Combine this with the Lamy refillable cartridge and your favorite ink, (I like Noodlers) for a great writing instrument.
    • The bad:The writing is not the smoothest.
    • I'm very pleased with it's performance with one single exception, the nib is not as smooth-writing as a Pilot pen I have in the same price point

    • When used with the filler/converter and Noodler's waterproof fountain pen ink, it is the perfect writing instrument.
    • My Lamy arrived with the included nib slightly offset, and was extremely scratchy while writing
    • Update January 2010I have had this pen for just about a year and have grown even fonder of my fine writing instrument
