After a certain point, you unlock free play which is one of the big reasons for getting this game

9yr old like that they can go their separate ways on a split screen and then come together for cooperative play

My boys love the Lego games (and I love playing with them too)

Maybe we haven't played enough to get to the free play yet- which my son and I like the best in Batman

While there are plenty of co-op shooter games we've played that split the screen up, those games, by their nature, forces the players to stick together in the same vicinity.

It confuses me because I'm still not sure how to get to free play mode, but he likes it.

Love it - great game play, characters and stays true to the Lego "game" franchise.

I think boys like to break things and collect things and this game (and other lego games) plays to that really well.

I wanted a game my 13 year old son and would enjoy playing with him, and this game didn't disappoint.

I only gave this 3 stars because I am completely lost playing this

My son loves teaching his friends all about the super powers of characters they've never even heard of and how each one plays into Marvel's overall storyline... which villian is which good guys arch enemy and so on

The girls especially love the free play option being able to change characters (after they are unlocked, so requires playing through the missions) to try out the different ones

like the other Lego adventure games, you unlock the characters on each level and can use them in the free play mode later

They love that they can earn free play and change their character and play any realm as many times as they want

My son and I LOVE Lego games, and have played through all of them together over the last couple of years.

You "unlock" them after you play them in the story mode and in free play, you can play as each character and even buy new ones with the Lego coin pieces you've collected

However, I do really enjoy this game and have to commend it for offering the option of drop-in/out cooperative play at any time, which is HUGE

There are a ton of characters and a lot of free-play time

as once you play through there are many free play opportunities.

In free play they love that they can play the villains that they've beat and obtained.

After playing through story mode, there was a level where we were playing through in free play

Our son loves it and I enjoy playing with him

My son and I have been playing Marvel since Xmas and have enjoyed it (although I hate the button pressing to steer flying up and down)

We had a lot of fun just switching into different characters in free play after we finished the story mode

It has a lot of characters to unlock which means you can spend a lot more time in the free play.

So far, the best Lego game I have played with my kids

The free play universe of New York is fantastic.

They are both Lego fanatics and have played this game daily during school break

SUCH a fun game with so many story levels to play and tons of wandering around the streets of New York in free play.

The characters are super cute and they love the game play.

They've already finished the game, but they love playing with all the different characters and using all of the different automobiles and flying machines to just play around in

If I had given him this video game before he started playing with the wild walls set, he never would have gotten to that set (or at least not until he'd gone home for the weekend, leaving the video game back at our home).It was heartwarming watching him sit and play and enjoy this game as much as he did.

My two boys (5,7) really enjoyed this game as they do all the Lego brand video games
