Right when I plugged this amp's power connector into it, it started popping and smoking like crazy!

Just turn the tv and cable on before you turn it own or you will hear a loud pop

I leave it on all the time, and it never gets hot, it never makes popping or hissing sounds through the speaker, and it just does a great job.

No feedback, static, or unwanted pops are present in the amp.
