Lepy LP-2020A Hi-Fi Digital Amplifier, Mini Stereo Audio Amplifier with Power Supply Black US

    • It sounds pretty good for the money when hooked up to decent speakers.
    • These particular speakers tend to have sucked-out and gutless through the mid region as well
    • And Definitive speakers are quite pricey, but well worth the money.
    • They are very impressive outdoor speakers
    • I had a nice pair of Bose Series 21 speakers I wanted to use to listen to music from my laptop in my office.
    • So far the quality sounds great but not enough volume, I'm not sure I did not go all the way up since the cheap speaker I had connected to was a 30 year old Panasonic driver, sounded distorted
    • Perhaps if you have inefficient speakers or 4 ohm speakers the Topping or FiiO are the way to go anyway because each amp, being a much better build, will better be able to handle the demand from those speakers
    • You might get enough volume on this amp if you have a pair of very efficient speakers in the 96db to 98db SPL range or add a powered subwoofer to complete the system.
    • I am powering low powered outdoor speakers with music synched to lights and it works fine for that
    • The amp will not sufficiently power big speakers to loud levels, but it works for a small room
    • Again, for the price I was not expecting audiophile quality, especially with my mediocre turntable and modest speakers
    • I know sites like CNET suggest grabbing some old speakers in the garage gathering dust or a cheap pair of surround speakers or a an inexpensive pair of small bookshelf speakers with the Lepai to create a very affordable desktop setup
    • The amp could not produce even a half of the sound the speakers were capable of produce
    • Obviously the better the speakers the better the sound, but this amp will not hold you back.
    • Of course you need good speakers
    • Purchased a couple inexpensive speakers and with this amp we now can hear the movies.
    • Seems to power my speakers very well, and it sounds very good even at higher volumes, with no distortion, which surprised me.
    • The sound created by this combined with a set of very inexpensive Pioneer speakers beats super expensive audio systems of 10x the cost
    • Considering most people will use the Lepai in place of multimedia speakers or a portable speaker setup for a smartphone, the sound from the LP-2020A+ with the Bostons blows away the sound from sub $200 multimedia speakers or portable speaker setups I've heard
    • The bottom line for me is - this will sound as good as the speakers you put the sound through
    • looks sharp, shipped new and undamaged; easy to connect and use; never even gets warm, always cool to the touch, even if left powered on continuously; wonderful at amplifying and driving my Sony bookshelf passive speakers from the television audio out, L+R, whether using cable or dvd on my television; amplifier output protects speakers; completely satisfied with this purchase
    • While I do like the sound quality, I am less impressed with the build quality of this amp, in particular the fragile speaker terminal
    • If you want moderate levels or have an extremely sensitive speaker, this will work great.
    • My other installation is on my son's computer and with decent speakers it sounds better than anything you would find in the Logitech line at the same price point.
    • One of the cube look speaker broke and the amp broke.
    • My speakers work with another receiver but only one works with this one.
    • This thing drives my speakers very well and it cooperates with the signal from my pc perfectly
    • So I replaced this with a Yamaha 200W receiver and the speakers sounded like what they were supposed to
    • -Price is right-Noise level is low-Over a year of use and no problemsI used a 1/8" headphone to RCA cable to connect my computer, amp then goes to my powered subwoofer via speaker wires and then to the left and right speakers.
    • i have the Micca MB42X Bookshelf Speakers, they are the best small speakers period
    • I used this with some inexpensive outdoor speakers and a Homespot bluetooth receiver for a cheap and simple solution.
    • but I know it would be better even nicer with better speakers
    • Say the word 'went' and notice what your tongue does that is what you can hear with the right speakers
    • It powers speakers well enough to fill a room with sound.
    • There were some limits to our testing, namely the inexpensive speakers we attached to the amp
    • Depending on your speakers and the volume levels you want, this amp will run out of steam at about 1/2 volume and you will start hearing distortion if you have good speakers
    • If you have nice speakers like me and you need an amp look at another brand.
    • I even hooked it up to my floor standing speakers and was blown away how well it could drive them.
    • but for the price... I am using it for my computer to drive a pair of Realistic 8 ohm mini bookshelf speakers
    • The EQ is a nice touch though as the speakers sound very dull without it.
    • Coupled to a decent speaker pair of 85 to 90 db sensitivity, you'd be almost there while on the cheap.btw, I capacitor coupled (470mf 35vdc IIRC Nichi's 105c cus I had them ) to see if even AC coupling headphones "revealed" any as yet unheard sonics
    • Maybe if you have super efficient speakers it
    • While this may be a good bargain for less than $20, this little amplifier simply doesn't have enough power properly drive some decent speakers at sufficient volume
    • People that connect this amp to good speakers have more positive reviews of the amp
    • Listen, this amp sounds great with the right 8ohm speakers
    • I hooked this to a pair of LG speakers (capable of 150w), they are a heavy real wood box set of speakers.....and honestly, they sound amazing
    • But this amp works and as a user said you need to connect Expensive high end speakers..... not true just make sure the speaker is a quality
    • I used 18 gauge wire from the inexpensive speakers that I bought on Amazon as well
    • Only 20 watts, so you may need more power for less efficient speakers, and not big enough for a bass kicker, but great for a desktop, computer, or bookshelf speaker amplifier
    • The sound is great (though good speakers).
    • I used this to run some cheap speakers
    • The speakers I have hooked up to it were originally RCA male plugs that I trimmed and just shoved in the back of this thing, and it works fine
    • It's not going to get inefficient speakers loud enough to suit some people
    • The speaker, RCA, and mini-plug connectors are all solid
    • I tried these with some very accurate speakers that I bought (fostex ff85wk)
    • Again, for the price I was not expecting audiophile quality, especially with my mediocre turntable and modest speakers
    • The right speaker channel did not work when this arrived.
    • The Leapai IS amazing in details it will resolve for $20 but it will also 'reveal' its SQ issue if you have good speakers
    • I take the headphone jack out of the TV and power the “good” speakers with this amp
    • Do not expect it to power large floor standing speakers (and not fail).
    • I went with this amp because it is cheap and it will be enough to drive a pair of efficient 8 ohm speakers
    • Everything worked for a short while, speakers sound great
    • My speakers sound great and i couldnt be happier.
    • And Definitive speakers are quite pricey, but well worth the money.
    • Out of the box the right speaker output was dead.
    • This is a very great, inexpensive buy that will fit anyones needs with a set of fairly decent speakers
    • With good speakers, these things are amazing
    • I also have these speakers which I absolutely love:BIC America DV62si Bookshelf SpeakersFor my space this combo works out perfectly audio wise.
    • The blue led is tacky, and the speaker bindings are cheap, but it is 25 bucks.
    • I literally JUST received this and connected my DVD player and, well, somewhat nice Klipsch speakers
    • Will drive even inefficient speakers if you don't demand crazy loud volume.
    • Spend your money on better speakers instead.
    • it works fantastic hooked up with some car stereo 5'' oval speakers then, make use of a connector 3.5mm to RCA
    • However, the reality is if you connect inexpensive speakers to this amp you will get mediocre soundLooking at those reviews, people that connect this amp to quality speakers, large bookshelf or floorstanding speakers, along with having better sound have less failures with the amp
    • I had some great speakers left over from a very old stereo setup
    • I went with a very inexpensive outdoor speaker ("Dual" brand I think).
    • I'd recommend looking for a different amplifier with stronger speaker tabs.
    • B003TUMDWGOf course my favorite speakers the Definitive outdoor speakers (AW 6500 series).
    • Was able to control the voltage (requires a max of 12v) with a step down regulator ($8) and eliminated the noise with a ground loop isolator ($9).Paired with the cheap outdoor speakers, the performance is ok, but not great as it starts to distort after %60 volume.
    • Others have stated it helps to have good speakers.
    • They Dayton speakers are really bad, but this little guy is a big surprise
    • some noticeable, but not annoying, speaker hiss at max volume with the 3.5mm connection
    • I connected two nice bookshelf size speakers to this.
    • I'll be replacing it for an old second hand boombox with detachable speakers and a line in.
    • I thought the speakers needed more breaking in (they have 50+ now), or it was because I was listening trough a computer sound chip (equal to about a ASUS Sonar DX or SB X-Fi), and 'only' 192kbs rips
    • the speakers sound terrible through these speakers
    • I would recommend this to anyone in need of an amp for powering good quality speakers without the use of a component stereo receiver.
    • I switched everything around, right speaker to left channel, left speaker to right channel
    • We figured the speakers were just inefficient and left it at that.
    • I am a Audiophile hobbyist, and have two very nice systems and this is not as good as those as that I am using speakers that are left over from previous pre-audiophile attempts at home theater, but I do not want to use this to power $750+ speakers.
    • I cut her little internet streaming radio on and she frowned as she looked me dead in the eyes and said, "I want what you've got!"Best purchase ever from Amazon!
