I suspect that the bass boost is actually just an EQ setting that reduces the Highs and Mids to make the bass sound comparatively stronger

I overcame these on amazon and I have to say the quality has been amazing, its bass and volume is loud and really clear, the frame of the headphones hug nicely onto your ears without being too tight or too loose.
