The hitch is that this drive is slower than mud.

Assuming my good drive continues to work (and it's actually the OLDER of the two I bought) - then quality control is presumably the issue.

This would be a great drive but there's a problem where I plug it in, it recognizes, I can put files on it, and then within a few minutes it disconnects, and then reconnects

I broke off the swivel thing, the drive turns out to have a tiny red led inside, not visible under normal circumstances.

Only today, after the bad Lexar drive wasn't mounted/recognized AT ALL, did I diagnose the problem accurately

I re-hide the files before I remove the drive from the computer so that if I should lose my keys, that data cannot be recovered or seen by anyone else

Drive works as designed, the LED for drive light is the little pivot point for the cap.
