The drive went dead and the computer no longer recognizes it

Assuming my good drive continues to work (and it's actually the OLDER of the two I bought) - then quality control is presumably the issue.

I happen to be a kind of person who is incapable to keep a loose USB drive

I was able to get it connected long enough to copy my files onto my hard drive, which is a huge relief

This is a great little jump drive with enough capacity to hold all the files I need as I move from computer to computer.

Great flash drive, but a little slower than SanDisk.

Works as well/fast as my other 3.0 drives, seems durable.

This would be a great drive but there's a problem where I plug it in, it recognizes, I can put files on it, and then within a few minutes it disconnects, and then reconnects

However, this one failed within one week of gentle use (the drive was never taken out of the house, was stored near the computer, and only had 10 files saved on it)

I can't waste any more time with this dead drive.

Drive works as designed, the LED for drive light is the little pivot point for the cap.

My previous favorite was the Lexar JumpDrive Swivel series which were built much better but are no longer made!This drive is fast, has an all-in-one design (the casing itself fits onto your keyring), works with my Mac (OS X Snow Leopard) and looks great as well

Anyway, I generally like Lexar as a brand, and this drive is perfectly reliable, as well as having a nice small form-factor, but for me the extremely slow write performance makes this drive useless.

With some wriggling of the device, I was able to get the computer to recognize it just long enough to copy my files back to the hard drive

I've only known of one defective flash drive six years ago where the plug came loose and the person was still able to make it work long enough to transfer the data, so "good" and "bad" really don't seem to exist for flash drives in their reliability

I decided to use this as a data backup instead of an external hard drive after my EHD died for the 2nd time.

You can find cheaper flash drives with same speed and memory on amazon

It's also durable and easy to access while keeping the drive safe

Eventually, I had to purchase regular external hard drives and FedX them to the clients a $40 per shipment

Please note that the drive formatted in FAT32, which limits you to storing files under 4GB each

I just copied my 32GB of MP3's onto the Lexar drive (writes were pretty fast; certainly faster than the Sandisk was), plugged it into the Sync USB port, and it works great!I like devices that just work like they are supposed to, without making me do a lot of extra work myself!Update:
