Now I get static and gruff from the thing no matter if I am on Bluetooth or hard wired to my headset jack.

great substitute - if you like wires it has an auxiliary cable - occassoinally have pairing issues but shut PC down and bring it back up and issues are solved - a great purchase

They both look the same as they did when we bought them so we are guessing the internal wiring is garbage.

The midrange speaker in the box quit working, when it broke i lost half the volume

Have not been able to connect it to my Mac for some reason, but works fi e with my android phone.
