Logitech Harmony Ultimate All in One Remote with Customizable Touch Screen and Closed Cabinet RF Control - Black

    • Pros: easy customizability of hard and screen keys, intuitive, can transfer programs from other logitech remotes, decent battery life, has an app for your smartphone that mimics the remote (not sure how useful it actually is, but cool).
    • Cons: no hard keys for numbers, screen only swipes on main section which can result in accidentally hitting a key
    • I like the small charge cradle, compact/ergonomic feel of the remote, and the option of using both hard keys and the touch screen
    • One of my biggest challenges is not having the hard number keys.
    • The option to use either the touchscreen or the hard-keys on the remote provide a nice way to accommodate the traditionalists (like my parents) who will always look for a channel button
    • As I tend to use favorites for the channel guide, it isn't a big deal, especially with the speed improvements, which make the 0-9 soft keys easy to access
    • It takes upwards of 4 seconds to change a channel by using the screen, and easily that long if you use the up/down channel rocker, and you can't enter channel numbers directly as it doesn't have any number keys
    • This comes from removing the number keys and placing them in the larger touch screen
    • I do wish it had more hard keys such as for numbers.
    • The Bad: - Has locked up several times and have to hold down the "off" key to kill the remote or put it in the charger stand.
    • In general, as long as the missing hard keys for 0-9 don't bother you, this is a clear upgrade over the previous models
    • UHD Blu-Ray and game consoles going into an AV receiver with output going to the smart 4K UHD TV...but then relying upon the TV's own software to stream 4K content while passing audio back into the amplifier via ARC.Simply put, it isn't straightforward
