I have always been a fan of Yamaha audio equipment and when I was looking for a decent (cheap) set of 5.1 speakers for my Onkyo

this was a good surround set.

Either my set is defective or they put a combined wattage of around 25 watts

so I guess saying its a decent set of speakers is a little bit of under rating

If you'd like a louder set for loud music to be heard all around the house, go for a 200 watt minimum

A remote control would be handy otherwise great set!

I have a feeling this speaker system would have been great if I had a gotten a good set.

i bought these to upgrade from my 2.1 and i can honestly say my old set up is alot louder and clearer then these

The rear speaker cables werent quite long enough for my application but that was fixed with a cheap set of analog extention cables

You could get better sound laying a nice set of headphones on the desk and turning the volume up.

The prior "inexpensive" set that I used had a fade control along with a volume control, and responded well to the software equalizer and spatial controls that came with the audio card.

The team at Logitech emailed return address printouts for the defective set and sent a new product replacement very promptly.

The first set I got had a problem with the power button that didn't want to make a proper connection when turning the speakers on

Then again, the second set had a problem (i believe) in the volume knob; when turning up it was randomly ramp EXTREMELY LOUD and would have to turn it down

I recommend this set, but be aware that the build quality is not great, even though the sound is awesome for the price.

Time will tell if It lasts but as of this moment I've never owned a better set of speakers in terms of bang for buck standards
