I am naturally med to dark brown

Was hoping to go for a nice ash brown and my hair ended up looking all green and murky

I used 4UA Ultra Ash Dark Brown

To be fair, I still had my Auburn, ginger twist coloring in my hair therefore, this new color may have turned out darker brown because the "base" color was already Auburn

It was supposed to be dark golden brown

The dark brown I expected is black in some areas

Just know, if you use 4A it’s going to look black instead of dark brown

Buyers be aware, stay away from this Dark Ash Brown

Have used this in various shades of dark blonde and light brown

More of a medium dark golden brown.

However, as it has been washed with regular shampoos and conditioners, the brown is faded out to a really nice ash brown.

Went with Dark Brown #4 (about 1 shade darker than my natural brown) and I like it

It was allot darker the first few days (closer to black) but faded to a dark brown that is my natural hair color

Indoors, in average room lighting, the color is a much darker brown, more like what is shown on the product package, actually a little darker than what is shown on the photo of the model on the box

I sometimes combine it with Feria (I color first with the Excellence Dark Brown on one day and then do the Feria on another day) to get a warmer, highlighted look

I've been experimenting for the last year or two - need to lighten it up cuz the darker browns are too harsh as I get older.

WHAT WERE THE RESULTS?The hair turned out very dark brown with definite ash tones to it.

Medium brown is more like a dark brown

So for a light brown dye my VERY WHITE and grey hair in under 30 minutes went dark brown and red.

It really does leave the hair dark at first, but it does fade down a bit to the perfect dark brown.

Used a light brown and my hair is now a very dark brown

So don’t purchase the dark ash brown unless you want black hair.

I won't buy this shade again but would consider the brand in another slightly warmer medium brown.
