Mac OS X version 10.6.3 Snow Leopard (Mac computer with an Intel processor required)

    • Why is Apple selling an operating system without a lot of new features?Apple's Leopard operating system already had a lot of features, and Apple decided to improve and speed up what they already have
    • Overall with Apple removing the PowerPC Legacy parts of the kernel and strictly supporting the x86 now I find it a lean mean production machine.
    • And Apple has such a good reputation.
    • I am a die hard Apple fan owning an iMac, iPhones, iPod touch
    • Only Apple makes their new OS versions would FASTER
    • I am glad Apple made this so

    • It pains me to say this because I love Apple, but Snow Leopard was one of the more painful updates I've been through.
    • But only Apple makes the Macintosh! As soon as you install Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro (and on many other models), you'll lose all internet connectivity
    • Kudos, Apple-Cakes, Kudos.
    • Thank you apple
    • These technical improvements were a major undertaking, and Apple took a risk by spending the bulk of their time on improvements will make future Mac software much faster rather than on end-user features we can immediately see.
    • A lot of older printers are not supported by their manufacturers under Snow Leopard, but this is less of a problem than you'd expect -- Apple added the Gutenprint driver package to support a tremendous quantity of printers that have been essentially abandoned by their manufacturers, and I find it to be vastly more stable and effective than the older drivers
    • Apple has recently re-issued this OS because of problems with OS 10.8, ie Mountain Lion.
    • After resisting the Snow Leopard upgrade for nearly a year mainly due to initial reviews on the various glitches, I figured Apple has fixed all the initial woes of Snow Leopard and decided to take the plunge.
    • After seeing what Quicktime can now do, like cut your film down to the part you want, it really looks like Apple was playing catch up with their iPhone 3Gs
    • I workin IT every day, my home computers are Macs because I love *nix based operating systems and Apple has a beautiful interface.
    • Apple probably will rectify many current issues relatively soon, but I can't wait for that on my Mac Pro that has to be rock-solid for video/audio and other specialized, high-intensity work.
    • Apple took a whole product cycle to improve and refine the product
    • It looks like Apple has some of the same issues I used to come across in upgrading Windows
    • I saw a lot of Unix people move to OS X before Apple's big rise in popularity because they liked the polish of a commercial operating system combined with the Unix base they are familiar with
    • It is inexcusable for Apple to release a product, an upgrade to a really good operating system, with as many bugs and glitches as Snow Leopard
    • Smart Apple move for apple to get every dummy to pay the cash for boosting their quarter income balance sheet
    • Oh well, Apple is fat and
    • Thank you apple for making my life accessible again!
    • (Version 10.6.1 addresses that as well)I was very pleased that shortly after the installation that Apple Made the newer versions of Sun Java available, Apple has in the past been slow updating Java but has been getting better

    • Some cosmetic changes to the Dock menus, they are that semitransparent black that Apple really seems to like
    • Apple, shame on you for putting out this garbage as a gold master.
    • Apple just gives you a number to VMware and allow them to deal with the problem
    • It told me I was out of disk space (I wasn't).I know all the great features Apple put into SL (which I why I upgraded so early in the life-cycle) and was loving them (smart disk eject, click and hold on an app in the Dock and see all the occurences of that app, super fast boot times, etc).
    • Apple has ever issued
    • CS3 is still so widely used that I'm amazed Apple decided not to offer support for it
    • With 10.6, Apple has discontinued support for legacy Palm OS devices in Mac OS X Snow Leopard's iSync 3.1.0.Adobe has said that they will not support CS3 under 10.6; customers are instructed to upgrade to CS4 or go without support

    • Didn't want to take a chance on buying this and getting stuck with a restore disk or something that was tied to a previous install, so called Apple directly and got it for $19.99 plus shipping...took 2 minutes on the phone and usual excellent Apple support to get
    • A very disappointed Apple Fan.
    • Snow Leopard is one of the better products Apple has shipped in a very long time
    • Oh well, Apple is fat and
    • Apple always know how to improve already best OS with new stuff
    • Now that wouldn't be possible unless Apple changed their calculations concerning the way it's
    • Obviously, Microsoft Office is a third party program and you can't fault Apple completely for compatibility issues.
    • Apple will probably fix this problem, whatever it is, in a later release
    • I love Apples products but Snow Leopard is just a bad apple
    • Apple is the best PC ever.

    • Apple probably will rectify many current issues relatively soon, but I can't wait for that on my Mac Pro that has to be rock-solid for video/audio and other specialized, high-intensity work.
    • I am not happy with this this upgrade and feel Apple is loosing its competitive edge.
    • But I am not bemoaning the changes that Apple did make and welcome the streamlining of the overall system they did.
    • But I love the fact Amazon was selling it cheaper than apple store and best apple product
    • If you lost or broke your dvd, apple will send you one for free just give apple care a call.
    • Apple's tendency to phase out support for old products makes this difficult, and a jump directly from Tiger to Snow Leopard isn't recommended; a step through 10.5 Leopard is needed for compatibility
    • The Apple Stores no longer stock Snow Leopard, but they recommended that I call 1800-MY-APPLE
    • I really love Apple, but
    • As I say in the subject line, Apple's failure to disclose borders on fraud and is certainly an unfair business practice under California law (I'm an attorney, so I know).
    • Apple is doing amazingly well right now in regards to getting new customers
    • all good now,thanks Apple
    • Well, apparently it is, or Apple makes it much harder than it is
    • For reasons unknown, Apple caved in and decided to switch to base 10 for all units in the Finder
    • Hopefully Apple will correct this issue, as it should be intuitive and it is not

    • It was a beautiful Apple machine before now it is a bit better
    • The upgrade speeded up the rebooting process, and a couple of other Apple applications like Safari and iTunes
    • Now I am not trying to knock Apple, but the way they are calculating HD space is incorrect
    • Well, Apple... we're waiting....
    • Apple, keep up the good work
    • I can't believe Apple is behaving like Microsoft
    • It does definitely refine a lot of what came before, which is what Apple was working toward
    • Apple just keeps on improving an already great product.
