• Reviews around feature (4.24 of 5)

Mac OS X version 10.6.3 Snow Leopard (Mac computer with an Intel processor required)

    • This is a revamped Leopard and not a totally new operating system, but succeeds at improving on already great features
    • Easy to install and new features make it worth it.
    • but I love working features even more.
    • From the very beginning Apple said Snow Leopard would not have significant new features but would simplify the code, be more streamlined, run faster, and take up less space.
    • Enjoying the added features and ease of use.
    • Snow leopard brings out your Mac's full potential by freeing up disk space, and adding features to enhance your already installed programs.
    • It adds some minor nice new features, but at the expense of many applications not working properly because those apps have not been updated, and many printers not working because drivers are not updated yet
    • I would like to say I was skeptical about the upgrade, on the contrary however all of your great mac features seem to be there.
    • Versions after Snow Leopard are missing very useful features
    • The additional desktops is a nice feature.
    • The new dock/expose feature is awesome"TRUE.Need to see it/use it to believe it, but the new dock/expose features really are awesome.
    • It's not a necessary upgrade, but will pave the way for future apps, and it has a few really nice features.
    • Nice features were added this time around
    • I LOVE all the new features
    • WideMail complements missing features in Mail application in many ways
    • It is disingenuous to give Snow Leopard a low rating for lacking major new features when there were to be none in the first place.
    • We are going paperless, and this one feature is worth $29
    • This is an amazing feature that allows you to check that you are opening the correct document or video
    • I just wish that would keep those same features available but perhaps bury them for the average user
    • The only serious new feature is Microsoft exchange/outlook support
    • Nice features without being too gimmicky
    • It adds some minor nice new features, but at the expense of many applications not working properly because those apps have not been updated, and many printers not working because drivers are not updated yet
    • was it freed up more than 20GB of space on my hard drive - way more than they said it would (which is a premium when I'm only at 111GB [120GB]) - but it was solely due to the upgrade! The improved stacks feature is nice - though I can't find a way to make the icons in them small again.
    • Faster performance, enhanced features, and an easy install, make this a must have!
    • It told me I was out of disk space (I wasn't).I know all the great features Apple put into SL (which I why I upgraded so early in the life-cycle) and was loving them (smart disk eject, click and hold on an app in the Dock and see all the occurences of that app, super fast boot times, etc).
    • This is the perfect upgrade with all the right features and also at a wonderfully low price.
    • I've been using this new OS for a couple of weeks and all I have to say is that my computer runs faster and many daily features are more convenient and useful
    • WideMail complements missing features in Mail application in many ways
    • Only thing I really miss is that there was a useful feature the dock had in previous versions of Mac OSX that ran on the older Power PC platform that it does not seem to have anymore in this version on the current Intel platform
    • Snow Leopard is much faster than Tiger, with some very useful new features
    • I like the small speed improvement and new features in Quicktime X, but have had problems with the Flash plugin locking the computer (despite all fixes I could find)
    • The fact that it has a smaller foot print - some boast you will get up to 7 to 8 gigabytes of your hard drive back - is a great feature
    • You won't notice any significant new features if you already use Safari 4.0, but the added snappiness alone makes Snow Leopard a bargain.
    • My favorite feature is the wake on demand function.
    • Versions after Snow Leopard are missing very useful features
    • This is a powerful feature, which used to require third party software to accomplish.
    • You would just want to include enough basic features to easily navigate files and to do some lite editing
    • Not an exciting upgrade as far as new features, but it worked well.
    • The speedup is barely noticeable and there are really no killer features to make this worthwhile
    • I like feature like Expose.
    • The computer runs faster and many daily features are more convenient and useful
    • Better speed and some new features for less than $30
    • While there have been some nice advancements to spotlight since then it still lacks one important feature in that there is no good way to tag files in the OS
    • Sure boot time is better, it has some great tweaks and features, but I preferred the stability of leopard (no application crashes or freezing) to Snow Leopard constantly freezing, needing to be rebooted
    • Adds some nice minor features and gives you back some HD space.
    • This feature was apparently taken out because it confused people who didn't know why only one window was open at a time
    • Overall worth the upgrade price but no great features.
    • Snow Leopard has some nice features, and it freed up about 48GB of hard disk space, however after loading it both my printer & scanner would not
    • Snow Leopard enhanced a few features of my iMac's OS
    • Many time-saving and intuitive features, increased responsiveness and strong stability
    • Smaller, faster, a few new features
    • The cooler new features are the ability to trim a movie and also share a movie to iTunes, MobileMe Gallery and YouTube
    • The refinements (not really new features, but close to it, such as, how the Dock and stacks now work) make life on the computer easier and more pleasant
    • Also backup your data.5 stars because of the easy upgrade, better integration with hardware and some nice new features
    • While there have been some nice advancements to spotlight since then it still lacks one important feature in that there is no good way to tag files in the OS
    • I can't comment on any new features, but it works as it's supposed to.
    • 10.5.8 was still there and everything worked as if nothing had ever happened
    • I bought this program from the apple store to install on my 20'' iMac, previously running os x 10.4, & after installing it and updating everything, it worked as if brand new
