Mac OS X version 10.6.3 Snow Leopard (Mac computer with an Intel processor required)

    • Not many new features here, but the system runs so much faster and a lot more smooth
    • Upgrading the old computer with Snow Leopard was the easiest way to clean up the old system and provide our grandson with something very usable for him.
    • Mac OS X is the most powerful and easy operating system for me
    • I haven't done any formal testing but my system feels faster
    • Probably one of the most stable Mac systems ever
    • Rock solid operating system
    • The system is noticeably faster now.
    • Good operating system.
    • System feels jerky now
    • They had a very stable, fast and easy operating system on the market (while Microsoft had the worst OS in the history of computers) and they just made it better.
    • The system runs smoothly and nearly flawlessly
    • system is fast and works great
    • system is fast and works great
    • I'm a little disappointed now, but rather hopeful as well--that these kinks will be ironed out; that SL will become a much more efficient operating system soon
    • Luckily my system has been compatible with the new releases because people without intel processors have trouble getting this on their system
    • Snow Leopard is a good operating system
    • Unlike Microsoft, Apple spends little-to-no time making sure their operating systems are compatible with legacy hardware (if you can even call a 2008 model "legacy").
    • I lost my original system
    • It also has problems with scanning software, tablets, and a few other issues, but just network connectivity is enough to hate the system
    • In general, it seems to be a good operating system
    • I've been on Mac's for almost 20 years and this is the worst system change that I've ever gone through.
    • I've been using Macs for 20 years, and this is the worst system
    • Vista was the worst operating system Microsoft ever developed, bloated, inefficient and insecure
    • I am no longer gleeful to see what the new system is like but filled with dread as I know I will have to upgrade in order to run the current software that I rely on and after I upgrade will be forced to spend hours troubleshooting problems
    • The system is intuitive and easy to use
    • When's the last time you got a 50% faster system for $
    • If you want lion on an old apple, you need to upgrade to leopard first... is a good operating system, and is a bridge to the newer versions
    • Snow Leopard is definitely a good operating system
    • I backed up my system before installing this one, trust me
    • I got to disc to hopefully upgrade my laptop to the current OS X system available the only problem was the disc i received would never work
    • Since I installed Snow Leopard my system has frozen at least once
    • This is the cheapest operating system upgrade I ever got and the most stable too
    • Snow LeopardThis is a nice Operating System
    • I'm sure in the future it will be the best operating system on the market... but as of right now it makes me long for Windows XP and the good old days when I could make anything work.
    • More to the point, having to spend 2 or 3 days trying to restore my perfectly good system to its previous functionality is something I shouldn't have had to do
    • Most of the upgrades seem to be minor, but that's ok because Leopard was a nearly perfect operating system as it was and Snow Leopard has just made it that much better.
    • I upgraded to Snow Leopard the day it was released and since then I've thoroughly enjoyed the improved operating system.
    • By far OS X 10.6 is the best operating system I've ever used.
    • All in all, for $25, this is a very worthwhile upgrade that will feel like you just upgraded your system to a faster processor
    • I workin IT every day, my home computers are Macs because I love *nix based operating systems and Apple has a beautiful interface.
    • And if it screws up your system big time or kills your apps, don't say you weren't warned.
    • By time I got it back, most of my software would not install and I had other bugs causing the whole system to either shut down or freeze
    • Snow Leopard is the best operating system in the world, and far, far superior to any version of Windows.
    • Unix is a solid system that is free from the vulnerabilities of the Windows software and being based on Unix, the MAC OS is now open source.
    • I would wait for a couple of months so that Apple can get all of the bugs out of their "Refined Operating System".In the mean time, many customers are happy it works for them (with the exception of a few having problems with outdated software) and there are people like me who don't have any extra apps (not even firefox) and still can't get it to work properly
    • but I still run Snow Leopard on an older Mac Mini from 2011 because it's a solid operating system, and stable
    • My system was also running sluggish, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone
    • Also there are at least two other things I preferred in the older versions on Power PC platform, one being the functionality of the Network Security settings in System Preferences but all in all a very good operating system
    • Overall, it simply refines the system; it speeds everything up a bit
    • Still, many little annoyances are fixed, and performance has been tuned to the point that this upgrade results in a noticeably 'snappier' operating system.
    • For those with disabilities, this may be the best operating system out there
    • Pretty hard to boot off a license code to install onto a fresh system drive.
    • Luckily, I had my system backed up on Time Capsule and reverted back to before the Snow Leopard install.
    • In 10.5.8, this added an extra 20 seconds or so to the boot process, as the applications danced endlessly in the dock until finally they popped open and the operating system became responsive
    • It is inexcusable for Apple to release a product, an upgrade to a really good operating system, with as many bugs and glitches as Snow Leopard
    • After the initial bugs are worked out, Snow Leopard is going to be the easiest, most pleasant operating system to date
    • No it is the wrong operating system and it can't be returned
    • I'm sure thousands and thousands of people have been confused by this product's name (and by people, I mean OTHER people). In conclusion, you'll love this new operating system from the folks at Apple, just make
    • Overall, though, it's a solid system and it's definitely a necessary upgrade for Intel Mac users.
    • Snow Leopard is a very stable and user friendly system software
    • I won't rehash the good, except to say that it's an awesome (e.g., stable, easy-to-use, fast, powerful) operating system.
    • That is not to say that Leopard was unstable, Snow Leopard simply sets up users for a new generation of applications that won't slow the system down as the OS is better optimized.
    • Leopard takes an already excellent and intuitive system to a whole new level-- and solidified my husband's conversion to the world of Mac.
    • The system runs smooth and I would say faster
    • This isn't a bad thing, since greater system reliability is more important than adding bells and whistles that ultimately take away from the user experience (i.e. Vista).EXPERIENCEI have only installed it on only one computer so far (running on an Intel chip and 4GB of RAM), but installation was a breeze, and Snow Leopard has been running smoothly so far
    • , it runs hot, the fans are running non stop to cool it off, and the system is unstable.
