Mackie CR Series CR3LTD - Limited Edition Silver Trim 3" Creative Reference Multimedia Monitors (Pair)

    • I upgraded from a cheap Logitech 2.1 which were way to bassy, always bothering neighbors even at low volume
    • I hate my neighbors
    • My neighbors hate me now...
    • Definitely recommend these to anyone on a budget or in an apartment who wants good sound, but doesn't want to overwhelm the neighbors or housemates.
    • Seriously, if you are in an apartment, small room or small home studio, you will not need a subwoofer for these unless you hate your neighbors and roommates
    • I do find myself playing the with volume knob a lot trying to cut out some of the bass (I wish I didn't have to because its perfect, just trying to be a good neighbor)Either my room is; just perfectly shaped acoustically, these speakers are amazing at filling the room, or its a placebo effect
    • Solidly built, excellent sound, all the I/O options you need, they come complete with cables, sound insulating pads, and have a nice option to "flip" the powered side to left or right
    • was too loud b/
    • , etc.)For studio monitors they aren't completely transparent and don't have a razor flat frequency response, but if you already have good ears and experience with recording then these are great "B" monitors or primary monitors if it's for home recording and demos, etc
    • The only complaints I read when I was searching for speakers was (a) They didn't have enough bass and (b
    • This is annoying, especially if your best headphones are open-back- Half the time I use the speakers, theydo not work due to a really cheap L/R selector switch.
