A small self powered 8" sub would round these out just a bit and would blow away any box-set computer speakers I've heard.

Most small speakers at this size have a tendency to sound a bit harsh, and these are enjoyable to listen to for an extended period of time

Sure, the low end is lacking a bit, but I have a subwoofer to fill that out

they are worth the money and a bit more than they cost

I was a bit skeptical about the overall sound that could be produced by such small speakers even after reading all of the great reviews...keep in mind we're talking about a little 3" woofer.

my only issue is that the passive speaker was defective in some way, it was a bit quieter and sounded vary muffled compared to the amazing sounding powered speaker

Lows are missing a bit but everything else sounds real balanced.

Packaging was simple enough, two speakers, cables, and (thankfully) a couple of foam stands/"feet" to isolate them a bit.

All of the wiring can be a bit messy and slightly difficult for basic users, but can not be beat for this price

These monitor speakers were cheap and lasted quite a bit, but I would suggest buying some higher-end models if you can fork out the money.

, etc.)For studio monitors they aren't completely transparent and don't have a razor flat frequency response, but if you already have good ears and experience with recording then these are great "B" monitors or primary monitors if it's for home recording and demos, etc

Solidly built, excellent sound, all the I/O options you need, they come complete with cables, sound insulating pads, and have a nice option to "flip" the powered side to left or right
