If you appreciate sound quality then these are a great buy but if you cant really hear the difference then a lot of cheaper speakers setups will provide decent sound for a lot less money

My interest in the product is for its use as a better quality speaker for my computer and television

While I can't say I A/B'd the Mackies with the other brands, I can still say these are great speakers, and I don't feel like I'm missing out.

I highly recommend these quality studio speakers.

These speakers sound amazing

Here are four pairs of studio monitor headphones, all from Audio-Technica, that I recommend you get if you're can't quite afford the speakers above (or just need an alternative due to your office or roommate situation)

The price point seems high (keep in mind the price is for one speaker) but anyone who knows about sound will tell you it that you are better off spending more for a set of good speakers even with a simple audio player.

These are great little speakers for the price

Granted they are larger than some nice stereo speakers or computer

The sound is miles better than any of the inexpensive computer speakers, and this if you really appreciate your audio files/CDs these are worth the big difference in price

These speakers are made for those that can appreciate a well balanced sound with excellent clarity and attention to the full spectrum of sound.

All things said and done these are great little speakers for a smaller workspace.

Being realistic, these are a fantastic upgrade to normal computer speakers, yet fall short as a speaker for your primary home stereo.

Design is important of course so give us a sexy speaker with clean curves and lines

Being a bit of an audiophile, I quickly realized how much better studio monitors are for entertainment over gimmicky PC speakers or home theater setups

These are definitely the best speakers I have ever owned so far

Mackie has a rock-solid reputation, and they have designed some great entry-level speakers here for the home DAWer
