The insert sits nicely on top of the bottom tray and there's enough of a gap that you can get away with actually using the bottom tray to store things without it interfering with the top tray insert

I wanted more, the sliding top tray makes them great for desk drawers.

But, in regards to the top tray, it doesn't slide as easy as I'd assumed, but still slides none the less

Top tray fits well and slides easily

The tray is useful from a two tier perspective but the separate compartments are too short for knives or long things.

My only complaints are that the top section doesn’t slide all that easily forward and backward, and also that my bottom and top trays don’t seem to be from the same set, as one has the bumps on the surface (as seen in the pictures) but the other is smooth

Maybe a slightly smaller dimension of the the top tray would have made it slide with a little more ease

The top tray is a great way to make more room for small items.
