A specific cleaner may be needed but water and a drop of dawn worked well

At first I thought I didn't have enough water

I removed the basket and rinsed the jewelry under warm water.

The water didn't even get cloudy until after 5 sessions of 480

Glasses, rings, watches, and more are all cleaner thanks to a couple of minutes in this thing and some clean water.

so I’m not sure about using it with harder water

I will rinse the inside of the machine and basket with cold water, and let it air dry or wipe it down with paper towel after use

After a 5 hot water only treatments, the product works great to clean jewelry.

This week something came loose when I dumped the water out and is rattling around and it no longer works.

Probably doesn't clean as well as when you take it into the jeweler for cleaning but if used regularly will keep your jewelry sparkling so you don't have to take to the jeweler for cleaning all the time.

I put my husbands earring in it to get the gunk out of the back, soap/oils that build up in the open spaces, as well as in the space between the prongs and stone.....
